Pune, Jan 30: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar has reportedly died in a plane crash. The accident occurred in Baramati, Maharashtra, while the aircraft was attempting to land. The plane was completely destroyed in the crash.
According to reports, the aircraft was Ajit Pawar’s personal plane. Administrative and security agencies have reached the spot and are assessing the situation. Apart from Ajit Pawar, six other persons were on board. He was travelling to Baramati for election campaigning.

As part of his campaign for the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti general elections, the Deputy Chief Minister was scheduled to address various rallies in Baramati taluka on Wednesday.

Ajit Pawar is a prominent political leader in Maharashtra. His full name is Ajit Anantrao Pawar, and he is a senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). He is the nephew of veteran leader Sharad Pawar. Ajit Pawar has been elected multiple times to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and has handled key portfolios in the state government, including Water Resources and Power. He has also served several terms as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
