Nabarangpur,Dec, 23:  Nabarangpur district has been experiencing intense cold for almost a month. Severe chill is being felt not only in Nabarangpur but also in the blocks of Tentulikhunti, Nandahandi, Kosagumuda, Papadahandi, Umerkote, Dabugaon, Rayagada, Jharigaon, and Chandahandi.

The temperature in Nabarangpur town was recorded at 7 degrees Celsius. From midnight till morning, the town remained covered under a thick layer of fog. The severe cold has disrupted daily life. By 8 AM, it was reported that many people were not venturing outside due to the dense fog. According to information from the Water Resources Department, the cold wave is expected to continue into the coming week.
Due to the extreme cold, streets in the town have become nearly deserted by 9 AM. Sales of winter clothing have seen a significant rise. Seasonal traders from Uttar Pradesh are selling winter wear, blankets, and carpets along the roadside. Similarly, sales in ready-made garment and clothing stores have also increased. Dense fog has been observed on Ambapani Ghat, Nabarangpur town, Indravati Bridge, and Bharatmala Road.
