Rayagada, Dec, 09: Local residents have demanded the reinstallation of the revered Goddess Ma Majhighariani’s photo on Platform No. 1 of the newly constructed Rayagada Railway Station. Earlier, a photo of the Goddess existed on the old station’s Platform No. 1.
In this regard, on behalf of the Rayagada Sri Majhighariani Temple Trust Board, social worker P. Bhaskar Rao submitted a memorandum addressed to Governor Kambhampati Haribabu.
The memorandum mentions that although the platform has been rebuilt, permission is not being granted to reinstall the Goddess’s photo. Various organisations had previously submitted requests regarding this matter as well.
After the establishment of the DRM office in Rayagada, both the number of trains and passengers have increased significantly. Therefore, the residents feel that placing the Goddess’s photo on Platform No. 1 will allow devotees to have her darshan. They also suggested that a QR code containing the Goddess’s image could be installed so that passengers can view it even while travelling.
