Demand Grows for Opening Bank and Fire Station in Maidulpur to Improve Essential Services

Maidulpur, March 31: Maidulpur, a major commercial hub under Papadahandi block, serves as a central point for nearly seven पंचायतों—Semala, Chandrapur, Gadabakatara, Majhiguda, Barli, Kantamal, and Nuakot—catering to a population of ov1er 40,000 people.
Both administrative officials and the general public must pass through Maidulpur to reach these पंचायत areas, which are located about 10 km away from the town. Similarly, the block office is situated around 15 km from Maidulpur, making it difficult for administrative services to reach villages on time.
Maidulpur already has several essential facilities, including schools, a forest department office, RMC, a rural bank, LAMPS, a police station, a high school, a college, a primary health center, a maternity home, and a gas warehouse. However, there is no branch or ATM of the State Bank of India, causing inconvenience to both government employees and the general public.
In addition, the fire station serving 23 panchayats of the block is located at Tandaguda in Papadahandi. Due to the distance, the fire services often fail to reach incident sites on time during emergencies.
Despite repeated written complaints submitted every month by the department demanding the establishment of a new fire station in Maidulpur, no concrete steps have been taken so far. This has led to growing dissatisfaction among the local residents.
