Bhubaneswar, 1st Aug 2025:  This year, the online teacher transfer process in Odisha has faced unusual and unjustified delays, causing frustration among teachers statewide.

Although 15 days have passed since the State Level Transfer Committee (SLTC) meeting—meant to finalize mutual transfers—no transfer notification has been issued yet. In previous years, the notification was typically released on the very day of the SLTC meeting. This deviation has raised questions and concerns among the teaching community.

Teachers are questioning whether the departmental authorities or the minister are intentionally withholding the orders.
The NPS Secondary Teachers’ Association has strongly protested, warning that they will lay siege to the residence of the School & Mass Education Minister if the process is not completed within this week.

According to the official transfer calendar, the process was supposed to be completed between July 1 and 10, with teachers reporting to their new schools shortly after. With an entire month now gone, the teachers are accusing the government of violating its own published guidelines.

Despite multiple reminders to the Minister of School and Mass Education, the association claims there has been no positive response. Teachers are especially worried that if even mutual transfers face such delays, transfers on other grounds (like health or hardship) will be indefinitely stalled.

The Association’s president, Pradipta Kumar Pradhan, has confirmed that unless the transfer process is completed this week, they will proceed with a protest at the minister’s residence next week.
