Debagarh A District Road Safety Committee meeting was held on Wednesday at the Vikas Bhawan within the premises of the Debagarh District Collector’s office. The meeting was chaired by District Collector Kabindra Kumar Sahu. The discussion emphasized various measures for preventing road accidents, including the installation of awareness boards, conducting raids at roadside eateries and hotels to seize illegal intoxicants, and checking for helmet use and valid documents.
Particular attention was given to conducting weekly checks. The District Collector also advised Regional Transport Officer Keshab Chandra Nayak to conduct helmet checks on employees coming to the Collector’s office on specific days.
Participants in the meeting included SP Anil Kumar Mishra, Sub-Collector Parikshit Sahu, District Excise Superintendent Basantiprava Nayak, District Welfare Officer Shishir Kumar Puhan, Srivatsa Dalei, Executive Engineer Abhishek Ojha, Assistant Executive Engineer Rajendra Soren, District Education Officer Gendra Kukur, District Physical Education Officer Padeni Mahapatra, Engineer Sachin Kumar Sahu, Debagarh Municipal Executive Officer Kripasindhu Swain, and DRDA’s Sushant Kumar Nayak. Members of the District Road Safety Committee, Siddharth Guru and Satya Narayan Mishra, along with officials and engineers from NH authorities of Sambalpur, Rourkela, and Keonjhar also took part in the discussion.
