Koraput: The government has been thanked for retaining the name of D.A.V. College, Koraput. Today, at a press conference organized at the local Tribal Museum under the chairmanship of Ayodhya Nath Samal, Koraput MLA Raghuram Machh expressed gratitude to the government for retaining the college’s old name after a long 13-year struggle. During the time when the college was initially named D.A.V. College, the then government had removed the D.A.V. from its name and named it only as a government college. At the press meeting, Mayor Lalat Ranjan Sethy, lawyer S.K. Pani, and other prominent figures were present. The decision to retain the original name of D.A.V. College has sparked joy among the people of the city, and former students distributed sweets to the public. With this name change, former students like lawyer Vidyadhar Sahu, Kamaksha Prasad, and Rupak Turuk, along with many alumni, celebrated the decision by sharing sweets with the people in various parts of the city and surrounding areas.
