Malkangiri,  31st Oct 2025: The cyclone Montha which touched down at Narasapuram, has so far not affected Malkangiri district. As of Wednesday at 2 PM, no adverse effects were reported. The weather has remained favorable, and during sunrise, only mild winds were observed. Life in the district headquarters Mahakuma and all blocks has continued normally.

To handle any emergency situation, the district has deployed 13 fire brigade teams, 3 ODRAF units, and one NDRF team.

Yesterday, under the delayed Malkangiri Municipality, about 60 people from Balimela, Sri Lanka Colony, NAC, and other nearby areas were safely relocated to temporary cyclone shelters.

In total, the district has 62 multipurpose flood shelters and temporary cyclone shelters, and a total of 813 people who had been relocated have now returned safely to their homes.

The last line in your text seems cut off: “ଦଳ ଓ ରାତ୍ରରେ ଉର୍ଷ ଓ ଅସ୍ଥାୟୀ…” – it appears incomplete, likely referring to night shifts or ongoing monitoring at temporary shelters.
