Malkangiri, 20th Nov 2025: To prevent online and cyber fraud and ensure public safety, the Malkangiri Model Police Station organised a Cyber Security Awareness Campaign in Padmagiri Panchayat. The programme was jointly conducted by the Malkangiri District Police and the Malkangiri Model Police Station at Talasahi Playground in the Chhattisgarh-bordering Padmagiri Panchayat of Malkangiri Block.
The campaign was inaugurated near Padmagiri High School by SDPO Dibyaranjan Dalei, who attended as the chief guest. A mega awareness rally was taken out, covering Padmagiri Bazaar and nearby villages, and culminated in a large public awareness meeting at Talasahi Playground.
The meeting, held under the chairmanship of IIC Rigan Kindo, was attended by:

- All the guests addressed the public on how to stay safe from cyber criminals.
The speakers explained that cyber fraudsters use digital platforms—WhatsApp, Instagram, email, mobile phones, and the internet—to steal money from bank accounts. They often lure victims with tricks such as:
- “Your bank account has been blocked”
- “Your ATM card has been deactivated”
- “You have won a lucky draw prize”
They advised people not to share OTPs, personal information, or respond to unknown calls/messages, and to immediately inform the police if they receive suspicious calls.
Students of local schools and artists from AOMA Gurukul staged a drama on cyber fraud, highlighting various techniques used by fraudsters. School students also performed different cultural programmes.
Hundreds of local residents, intellectuals, and parents participated in the awareness rally and programme.
