Cyber Fraud Awareness Vehicle Flagged Off in Umerkote

Umerkote,17th Nov 2025:  The police department has launched a public awareness campaign to combat the rising incidents of cybercrime across the state. As cyber fraud continues to increase day by day, the need for public awareness has become crucial. As part of this initiative, a Cyber Fraud Awareness Vehicle has been moving around various areas of Umerkote in Nabarangpur district. The vehicle is being sent across the entire district to spread awareness.

Today, the police department brought the awareness vehicle to Kalinga Vidyapeeth, where students were advised not to receive calls from unknown numbers, not to share bank details with strangers, and to dial the 1930 helpline in case they face any cyber fraud attempt. The helpline number 1930 has been made available specifically for reporting cybercrime.

The awareness campaign highlighted how to stay safe from cybercrime, the precautionary measures to follow, and how public cooperation can help prevent such offenses.

Students of Kalinga Vidyapeeth participated in the event. Umerkote Police Station Officer Ramakant Sai, SI Soumendra Seth, ASI Bishwa Ranjan Padhi, constable Prabhas Malakar, and other police personnel were present. At the old bus stand, the cyber awareness vehicle was stationed, and videos were shown to the public demonstrating how to avoid falling victim to cyber fraud.
