Nabarangpur, Dec, 12:A vibrant expressions of tribal culture and tradition were witnessed at the Nabarangpur Sanskruti Bhavan. Ahead of the upcoming Mondei 2025 Mahautsav, district-level folk song and traditional attire competitions were organized. The day-long programme, held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., featured 12 participants in the folk song competition, who presented melodious tribal “Gitakuḍia – Gitakuḍiani” performances. In the traditional attire category, 10 participants showcased attractive indigenous and tribal outfits.

Renowned artists of the district — Debadas Gajur, Swarshik Bhatra, and Narasingha Tripathy — served as judges and evaluated the participants.

In the traditional attire competition, Sasmitā Bhatra from Nabarangpur secured first place, Aarati Gond came second, and Bindiya Behera placed third. In the folk song competition, Radha Dhakad won first place, Damodar Panka secured second, and Damai Bhatra achieved third position.

It has been decided that all six winners will receive their awards on the grand stage of the Mondei Mahautsav.

As the organizer, the District Culture Officer encouraged all participants to continue promoting cultural heritage. Junior Assistant of the District Culture Office, Atma Prakash Sahu; Office Peon A. Santosh Kumar; and Subrata Bisoyi from the District Information & Public Relations Office supported the smooth conduct of the event.
