Jeypore, 4th Nov 2025:  The General Body Meeting of the Communist Party of India (CPI), Baipariguda Zone, was held under the chairmanship of Lachhan Muduli. Addressing the gathering, CPI State Executive Committee Member Pramod Kumar said that since the Modi Government came to power in 2014, the secular principles and constitutional institutions of the country have come under increasing threat. The spirit of communal harmony has been damaged, and under the guidance of the RSS, hatred and division are being spread, which must be resisted. He emphasized the need to fight for the fundamental right to live and to stand united against communal forces.

Senior CPI leader Yudhishthir Raul urged party members to strengthen the organization while addressing local issues. The CPI Baipariguda Area Committee also discussed the report of the National Congress of the Communist Party of India held at Chandigarh from September 21 to 25.

During the discussion, it was mentioned that while leftist and socialist parties are gaining support in several countries, right-wing fascist forces are rising in others. The example of former U.S. President Donald Trump, who projected himself as the savior of the world, was cited, noting that the collective efforts of China, Russia, and India have countered such tendencies. The global left, socialist, and progressive forces continue to stand in solidarity with Palestine.

It was further discussed that the BJP-led government in India is taking deliberate steps toward declaring the country a Hindu Rashtra (Hindu Nation). Attacks on minority communities are increasing, along with unemployment, inflation, corruption, and oppression of the working class. In contrast, Kerala, a Left-ruled state, has emerged as a model of a poverty-free and progressive state in the country.

The CPI leadership has decided that the resolutions adopted in the national congress will be discussed at the branch level and that mass movements will be organized across regions. Members were called upon to launch movements across the country in defense of democracy and secularism.

CPI District Secretary Ramakrishna Das urged all Baipariguda zone branches to renew memberships, form new branches, and participate in large numbers in the party’s centenary celebrations to be held on December 19.

Among those present and participating in the discussions were Budra Badanayak (District Joint Secretary), Balivhadra Bhui (Baipariguda Zone Secretary), Youth Leader Madhu Jani, and Assistant Zone Secretary Ram Pangi, along with several other members.
