Aali 25th July 2025: While the majority of panchayats under Aali Assembly Constituency remain submerged due to relentless flooding over the past week, affected residents are still struggling in dire conditions. No significant relief materials have yet reached them from the government. Only a symbolic amount of cattle feed has been provided, which is grossly insufficient for people who are stranded in water-logged villages, unable to step outside for basic necessities like food and daily-use items.
Due to stagnant floodwaters, many areas are infested with crocodiles, leaving villagers in constant fear and completely cut off from outside help.
Against this backdrop, under the direction of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Bhakta Charan Das, and the district Congress leadership, a relief campaign has been launched.
Former District Youth Congress President Satyapriya Samal led a team of youth volunteers who traveled across flood-affected areas of Aali block including Nandapur, Patrapur, Patanipal, Kalamada, Sasan, Bhuinpur, and Jena Sahi, distributing dry food packets to distressed families.
The relief effort saw active participation from several youth and Congress leaders, including:
- Rajesh Raut,
- Rajmohan Swain (Youth Congress President),
- Bijit Tarai,
- Susanta Raut,
- Prakash Jena,
- Manas Nayak,
- Satyaranjan Rautray,
- Sadashiv Nayak,
- Smrutiranjan Padhi,
- Bapa Nayak,
- Kishore Kumar Sahu,
- Dinabandhu Sahu,
- Rana Prasad Raut,
- Bakan Nayak, and
- Abhi Nayak, among others.
The team waded through floodwaters to deliver relief materials directly to those trapped in their homes. This grassroots initiative brought some much-needed relief to areas where government assistance has yet to reach.
