Nabarangpur , 5th Sept 2025: Starting from yesterday, the Congress party has initiated the process of selecting district presidents across the entire state. Party-appointed observers have begun visiting each district to hold discussions with grassroots party workers.
After these discussions, reports containing the application details of 6 suitable candidates from each district will be submitted to the party high command by the 16th of this month. It has been informed that among these six candidates, at least one will be a female candidate.

J. Kusum Kumar, the former working president of Telangana PCC, has been appointed as the observer for Nabarangpur district. He is currently touring the district and holding one-on-one discussions with Congress workers from the district, block, and grassroots levels at the district Congress office. His aim is to identify a suitable and widely accepted leader to be selected as the district president.
In a press conference held at the district Congress office, the observer informed that the aspiring candidates for the district president post would be submitting their application forms to him today. Detailed conversations are being held with grassroots workers to gather input and consensus.
The observer stated that a leader who is non-controversial and acceptable to all workers will be selected for the post by September 30. He also advised party members to set aside internal differences and work unitedly to bring the party back into government.
Former MLA Sadan Nayak, former district president Muna Tripathy, Bhujabala Ma, Dilip Behera, Khemaraj Bagh, Sanjeev Bishoi, Ch. Nagarjuna, Brinda Tripathy, Tufan Sadhangi, G. Sairaju, and many other senior leaders were present at the press conference.
