Complaint Filed with Chief Minister Over B.Ed. Admission Issues

Malkangiri: Tribal students of Malkangiri district have been going outside the district and state to pursue B.Ed. education. Understanding this issue, the then Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik established a B.Ed. college in the district in 2018. However, since then, no student has been able to get admission through the 1098 portal till date. As a result, the tribal youth of the district are forced to depend on colleges outside the district and state.

Sadashiv Nayak, a resident of Korapalli village under Mathili block in the district, yesterday met the Chief Minister in Bhubaneswar and lodged a complaint requesting immediate commencement of the admission process for the B.Ed. college. After receiving Sadashiv’s complaint, the Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Higher Education Department officials, including the District Commissioner and Secretary Arvind Agrawal, promised to take swift action to start the admissions soon.

Upon hearing this news, the students of the district’s tribal community have expressed great happiness and relief.
