Malkangiri: The district administration has accelerated efforts to facilitate the Jeypore–Malkangiri new broad-gauge railway project. Today, in the Panchayat Samiti conference hall at Mathili Block, compensation amounts were distributed to landowners whose land has been acquired for the railway line.
The event was graced by Balabhadra Majhi, Member of Parliament from Nabarangpur Lok Sabha constituency, as the chief guest. Among the distinguished guests were:

The railway line is expected to usher in significant development in the district and fulfill a long-cherished dream of the people. Speaking on the occasion, MP Balabhadra Majhi stated that this project will bring unprecedented opportunities, especially for tribal communities, and will play a key role in improving the region’s economic growth.
In the first phase of compensation, a total of Rs2,45,55,399 was distributed to 35 beneficiaries from Mathili and 4 from Khairput Tahasil.
The land acquisition beneficiaries belong to:
Mathili Tahasil villages: Dhoudaguda, Pujariguda, Katri Majhiguda
Khairput Tahasil village: Paruguda
This compensation amount was disbursed by the district administration on behalf of the Railways Department. It was informed that in subsequent phases, all other affected landowners will also receive their due compensation.
The program also featured a welcome speech by the Additional District Magistrate, while the Deputy Collector delivered the vote of thanks at the end.
