Collector’s Compassion Leads to Shelter for the Homeless

Nabarangpur:13th Sept 2025: Located 560 kilometers from Bhubaneswar, Nabarangpur district is now smiling. New schemes are steadily reaching the people. Thanks to the Collector’s grievance cell, which remains open every day, even the homeless now find shelter.

An IAS officer with a kind heart, Maheshwar Swain is setting this example. Before being appointed as the District Collector of Nabarangpur, he served in various departments of the state government, holding multiple key positions, and earned a place in the government’s good books for his transparency and efficiency.

He is widely regarded as a good human being, an able administrator, a thoughtful storyteller, and a compassionate individual. His reputation and integrity are being widely appreciated and discussed.

People of all ages, filled with hope, trust, and expectations, come to the Collector with their petitions in hand. Most of these issues get resolved on the spot, thanks to his decisive and immediate action.

Those who come once with a grievance rarely need to return again — that’s the mark of this new, responsive administration.

Moreover, there are no hurdles or formalities to meet the Collector. If he is in office, meeting him is easy and straightforward. The usual culture of gatekeeping by staff has practically disappeared.

Now, even a helpless person can approach the Collector directly to share their struggles — all doors are open.

According to the Collector, with the “Double Engine Government” at work (referring to both state and central governments being in alignment), this district will soon be more developed and will secure a top position in the state.

The core mantra of the district administration remains Zero Tolerance and Transparent Governance.
