Malkangiri 28th Aug 2025: District Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay visited the Bondaghati region, including Andrahal and Mudulipada areas. During the visit, he taught English and Sanskrit lessons to Class VII and VIII students of SSD Girls’ High School in Mudulipada, asking them various questions from their curriculum. He also interacted with students of both the SSD Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools to understand their problems and needs.
The Collector instructed the PA, ITDA, and Khairput BDO to take steps for the development of the Sitakunda tourist site. He also reviewed services at the mother-and-child care centers, ongoing construction of houses under the PM Janman housing scheme, and directed officials to complete the pending works quickly. At Mudulipada PHC, he inspected the existing facilities as well as the under-construction new building.
Emphasis was laid on completing developmental works in Bondaghati—such as roads, bridges, and housing projects—within the stipulated time. The Collector also inspected the ongoing construction of additional classrooms at Govindapalli UGME School and the new Panchayat building at Govindapalli.
He stated that the overall development of the Bonda tribe and their inclusion in the mainstream of society is a top priority for the district administration.
