Nabarangpur A coaching camp has started for 40 selected football players. It is informed that the Chief Minister Cup Football League Tournament was held earlier at various venues in Umerkote. From Nabarangpur, Benu Gopal Rao, under the patronage of the Nabarangpur District Sports Association, organized the coaching camp at the local stadium in preparation for the Chief Minister Trophy football event.
Editor Manoj Kumar Pattnaik, District Sports Officer Sameer Kumar Patra, Santosh Trophy player and former footballer Prashant Behera were among those who participated. In this camp, experienced former footballers like Durjaya Harijan, Firaj Hial, Lalu Harijan, and athletes from Rail Vihar will train the players in various football techniques. Considering the summer heat, the training sessions are being held daily from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM.
It is further informed that the week-long training camp will culminate in the announcement of a 22-member Nabarangpur district team, which will then compete in Brahmapur against teams from Ganjam and Koraput districts. Cricket editor of the association, K. Ashok Nayak, and senior member Shashank Shekhar Behera are overseeing the program.
The coaching camp was officially inaugurated by Prahlad Tripathy, Secretary of the District Sports Association, who attended as the chief guest. On this occasion, M. Bala Krishna Rao, Vice President of the District Sports Association, also attended as a special guest.
