Malkangiri , 9th Aug 2025: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will soon visit the Bandaghati area of Malkangiri district. During this visit, he will tour Mudulipada and Ashrahal villages under Khairput block, interacting with residents from 32 villages to understand their living conditions.
This visit comes in response to a request from Champa Dhangda Majhi, a young woman from Bandaghati. It is reported that she personally appealed to the Chief Minister, prompting his decision to visit the area.
This will be the Chief Minister’s third visit to Malkangiri district. He has previously toured flood-affected areas during natural disasters and also participated in the Malyabanta Festival.
Champa Dhangda had earlier participated in the “Aspirational Haat” programme, where she introduced herself as a native of the Bandaghati foothills. The Chief Minister met her, took a photo with her, and assured her of a visit to her region.
During a prior visit, Mr. Majhi had asked the then District Collector of Malkangiri how many times he had personally visited Bandaghati and inquired about the road conditions there. He sought detailed information about the state of infrastructure from the Collector.
Speaking to the media about development in remote areas, the Chief Minister also highlighted a concerning incident in Nabarangpur, where a pregnant woman had to be carried on a cot. “I saw this through the media. Why is this still happening?” he asked, and ordered immediate action to resolve such issues. He emphasized giving top priority to such problems and instructed the Collector to ensure proper road connectivity without delay.
