New Delhi, 13th Aug 2025:A heavy cloudburst rain occurred in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, causing panic similar to that in Uttarkashi. On Friday evening, a cloudburst rain was reported in the Sharod Nala area of Kullu. However, no casualties have been reported from this incident. The district disaster management authorities of Kullu have stated that the situation is currently under control.
Notably, since the start of the monsoon on June 20, various parts of Himachal Pradesh have experienced cloudburst rains. Due to the rainfall this season, over 180 people have died in Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, 37 people are still missing. A total of 358 roads, including 2 national highways, remain closed due to the rains. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in Himachal Pradesh in the coming days.
