Malkangiri, 13th Aug 2025: Chitrakonda MLA Mangu Khila visited the remote Badural Panchayat in Khairput Block of Malkangiri district, known as one of the most inaccessible panchayats. After receiving reports that several houses had collapsed due to continuous heavy rainfall over the past few days, the MLA personally reached the affected families to understand their hardships.
In Sanural and Maliguda villages of Badural Panchayat, heavy rains had damaged several houses. In one incident, a man and his children were sleeping at night when their house suddenly collapsed, with the entire roof falling on them. They were rescued within a short time by the villagers.
During his visit, the MLA assessed the damage, informed the local administration, and discussed ways to ensure all possible government assistance reached the affected families.
Villagers said that no MLA had ever set foot in their village before, and they expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the new MLA’s visit during their time of distress.
