Children from Care Institutions Display Remarkable Talents

Nabarangpur, 1st Nov 2025:  A talent show program was organized on Sunday for more than 200 residents from six child care institutions of Nabarangpur district under the aegis of the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU).

The event was graced by Additional District Magistrate (General) Tapan Kumar Khuntia as the chief guest. Among others present were Sub-Collector Prakash Chandra Mishra, District Welfare Officer Rabindra, Additional District Welfare Officer Bharat Chandra Sahu, District Culture Officer Ghasiram Harijan, District Social Welfare Officer Draupadi Kahar, District Child Protection Officer Suresh Kumar Pattnaik, DIPRO Manoj Kumar Behera, Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee Achyanta Shubhadarshini, college lecturers Dileep Hota, Shambhu Hota, and Ashok Patra, along with several dignitaries.

Various competitions such as elocution, general knowledge, drawing, group dance, and singing were held among the children. In the group dance category, Majhiguda Utkal Balika Ashram secured first place in the senior division, while Agape Child Care Institution took first place in the junior division.

The program was organized and coordinated by the DCPU team, including Legal Officer Kishore Martha, Institutional Care Officer Kunimani Swain, Non-Institutional Care Officer Truptimayee Sahu, Counselor Sushil Kumar Mishra, Data Analyst Kishan Pattnaik, Accountant Mahendra Chalan, Social Worker Lipika Haladar, staff members Samarendra Parida and Revati Banua, Data Entry Operator Snatishree Pattnaik, and Outreach Worker Mohan Mali.

Members of the Child Welfare Committee, including Data Operator Santosh Kumar Jena, and representatives from Childline such as District Project Coordinator Chinmayee Nayak, Counselor Niharika Takri, and other Childline workers, actively assisted in the event’s smooth conduct.

Staff members from various child care institutions also contributed to the successful organization of the program.

According to the District Child Protection Officer, the winners who secured first place at the district level will get an opportunity to participate in the state-level competition. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Legal Officer Kishore Martha.
