Navarangpur , 18th Nov 2025: – A child marriage prevention awareness program was held at the Daligauda Anganwadi Center under Nandahandi Block, chaired by District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain. The program began with a welcome and felicitation ceremony, accompanied by vibrant and divine dance and music performances.
The program was conducted under the supervision of Nandahandi Child Development Officer Sasmita Mahanti. Many intellectuals, women, and district-level officials from the region were present on the stage. Key attendees included the Chief Development Officer, District Council representatives Biranchi Nara and Rajiv Kumar Sahu, C.D.E.O. Rayan Darowan, P.E., IETD Rajiv Santosh Panda, Deputy Collector Poo K., and other dignitaries including Chhatrapati Sahu, D.W.O. Rabindra Palka, Nandahandi BDO, Kshirudh Chandra Sahu, Tahsildar Chandra Das Mahanandiya, DSW Draupadi Kahan, DCP Suresh Chandra Pattnaik, BEO Shri Kant Jena, Shantilata Bhumia, Sangita D. Dash, Nikisha Nayak, and staff from various Anganwadi Centers under Nandahandi Block. The program was conducted smoothly.
The officials highlighted the economic, physical, and social hardships caused by child marriage and its adverse impact on society. In his address, District Collector Dr. Swain stated that child marriage is a serious crime in society and emphasized the need for collective effort to prevent it. He urged everyone to unite and pledge from today onward that under no circumstances will they support child marriage, and that they will report and work with authorities to stop it.
