Bhubaneswar: The application process for the Chief Minister Research and Innovation Fellowship (MRIP) under the Mukhyamantri Anusandhan O Abhinabikaran Chhatrabrutti Yojana (Chief Minister’s Research Scholarship Scheme) is starting.
Application Window:
Online applications will begin from May 29 and continue until June 24.
Applicants will be able to edit their forms on June 25.
All applications will be submitted to the Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC) through the SAMS (Student Academic Management System) portal. OSHEC will shortlist eligible candidates and publish a merit list accordingly.

Key Features of the Fellowship:
Objective:
To encourage students to pursue advanced research in Science & Technology, Social Sciences, and Humanities.
Number of Scholarships:
Every year, 300 scholars will be awarded this fellowship.
Eligibility:
Students pursuing Ph.D. in State Government Universities.
Universities under the Department of Higher Education, Skill Development & Technical Education, Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, and Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department.
Must have passed Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees with First Class.
Must be a resident of Odisha.
Must be below 35 years of age.
Must not be receiving any other financial assistance.
Must have completed Pre-Ph.D. coursework in any recognized university.
Fellowship Duration:
Up to 4 years.
Can be extended for 1 more year with OSHEC approval.
Scholars must submit annual progress reports.
Financial Assistance:
Monthly Stipend: ₹30,000
Contingency Grant:
Rs50,000 for students in Science/Practical-based disciplines
Rs30,000 for students in Non-Practical disciplines
