Dabugaon: A Panchayat Samiti meeting was held in the conference hall of the Dabugaon Block Office. The meeting, presided over by Block Chairperson Veena Majhi, involved extensive discussions on agriculture, education, forest department, electricity, animal husbandry, soil conservation, social security, drinking water, integrated child development, horticulture, agriculture department, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and Mission Shakti.

At first, during discussions related to the Women and Child Development Department, it was mentioned that some Anganwadi centers were incomplete. Though 10 new centers had been approved by ITDA, only 4 were operational. Additionally, 43 adolescent girls had been sent to Bhubaneswar for tailoring training. The CDPO stated that by making these girls self-reliant, child marriages could be prevented. Under the Subhadra Yojana, 14,496 women in the block had benefited, and the CDPO assured that excluded eligible women would soon be included.

The RWSS department provided updates on the progress of the mega drinking water project. The Electricity Department reported that a project to provide uninterrupted power supply to the areas of Borigaon, Ghodakhunta, and Nandapura was underway near Borigaon and would be completed within six months.

The Forest Department announced a target to plant 205,000 saplings across 279 hectares in the 2025–26 financial year, with 80,000 saplings to be distributed among the public.

The Education Department shared that in this year’s 10th board exams, 1,066 students appeared, of which 987 passed. Among them, Arun Nayak from the Government Panchayat High School topped the block with 524 marks. Basanti Bhatara from the Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School stood second, while Ankita Biswal from Badaolma Ashram School ranked third. These three students were honored by the guests.

Present at the meeting were BDO Sarat Majhi, MLA representative M. Bulu Rao, Rajya Sabha MP’s representative Ramarao Choudhury, Zilla Parishad member Dhansingh Bhatara, BJP Zone-1 Mandal President Jagadish Bhatara, Zone-2 President Manoj Patra, GPEO Padmanabh Bhalla, PO AD Prasad, all Sarpanches, Samiti members, and officials from various departments.
