Papdahandi,: The Ashtaprahari Naam Yajna was organized by the village management committee in Chhataguda village, under Maidalpur Panchayat in Papdahandi Block, Nabarangpur district.
Around 15 Sankirtan groups participated in the event. The temple management committee warmly welcomed these groups and arranged all necessary facilities for them. At 3 PM, a ritual was conducted where 1,500 sacred water pots were filled from the New Sahi village pond and placed at the Naam Yajna site.
The priests from Jhariguma village performed the rituals and worship as per traditions. The villagers actively participated, chanting Lord Rama’s name and engaging in the yajna. The village committee members provided full support for the event.
In the evening, a grand Deep Yajna with 5,001 lamps was performed, attended by a large number of devotees. Nearly 10,000 devotees were served prasad as part of the celebrations.
On Saturday at 7 AM, the Naam Yajna concluded, followed by the Purnahuti ritual. Later, a Dadhuhandi procession and Nagar Parikrama (holy city procession) were planned.
To maintain peace and discipline, members of the village and puja committees actively cooperated in organizing the event.
