Rasulpur, Nov 24: Shatayu Shiv Das, a resident of Chandipur village in Rasulpur block, passed away on Wednesday. He was 105 years old.
As an elder of the village, he had firsthand knowledge of the real conditions in the country both before and after independence. He used these experiences to work towards establishing social justice.
A devout and philanthropic person, he was loved by people from all walks of life. Many prominent individuals visited his residence to pay their respects. His last rites were performed at the village cremation ground.
News of his death has cast a shadow of grief over the block region.
