Census of India 2027 to Begin Nationwide on March 1

Bhubaneswar: The Census of India will begin on March 1, 2027, across the country.  The census will be conducted in two phases nationwide.  In states and union territories that experience snowfall, the process will be conducted earlier.  The census will be conducted earlier in Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.  In these regions, the census will begin on October 1, 2026. The Gazette Notification has been issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
