New Delhi: The Indian Air Force has brought about a significant change in the lives of Indian women through “Operation Sindoor,” making a major impact. The Indian Air Force has provided information to the public about this operation through Indian Air Force Wing Commander Byomika Singh and Indian Air Force Colonel Sophia Qureshi.

Byomika Singh has changed the narrative at the national level with her leadership in media. She has made her name meaningful. The name Byomika means “daughter of the sky.” From a young age, Byomika had aspirations to fly, and she has now become one of the country’s shining stars. She joined the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and, after completing engineering, became the first member of her family to join the Armed Forces.

On December 1, 2019, she was commissioned as a permanent helicopter pilot in the Indian Air Force’s Flying Branch. With more than 25,000 flying hours, Byomika has operated helicopters like the Chetak and the Dhruv. In 2020, she led a major rescue operation in Arunachal Pradesh.

In 2021, her courage was once again proven when she participated in a complete women’s three-service mountain expedition at an altitude of 21,650 feet (Mount Manirang).
