Jeypore Dec, 16: The Border Security Force (BSF), India’s first line of defense tasked with protecting the country’s borders, celebrated its 61st Raising Day as part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations on 6th December with patriotic enthusiasm.
Established after the 1965 India-Pakistan war, the BSF has consistently upheld its motto of vigilance “Duty unto Death,” symbolizing its commitment to national security. To honor the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of BSF personnel, the BSF Sector Koraput, Jaypur organized a mass run at Vikram Dev University ground. The run included categories for both men and women: 5 km, 10 km, and 1 km distances.
The aim of the event was to promote physical fitness and strengthen public awareness about national security. More than 1,500 participants joined the marathon, including local dignitaries, police perso nnel, securi ty forces, and citizens. The event reflected the community’s support for national initiatives and a sense of social responsibility.
Participants ran with great enthusiasm, and winners were awarded medals and cash prizes:
10 km race: Rs 15,000 for 1st place, Rs 10,000 for 2nd, Rs 8,000 for 3rd
5 km race: Rs 50,000, Rs 20,000,Rs 5,000 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places respectively
The winners included:
- 10 km men: 1st Ashok Dand Sena, 2nd Ranjan, 3rd Pavan Kumar Yadav
- 10 km women: 1st Susmita Titika, 2nd Dayamani Harijan, 3rd Anjali Tadingi
- 5 km boys: 1st Dayanidhi Munda, 2nd Dhalamani Chigun, 3rd Ravi Muduli
- 5 km girls: 1st Anjana Gaga Gade, 2nd Chandini Bisi Nayak, 3rd U. Mallik
The BSF Sector Koraput praised all participants for their enthusiasm and recognized the relentless efforts of BSF personnel deployed along India’s borders. The event successfully combined physical fitness, patriotism, and community engagement, making the BSF Golden Jubilee celebration a memorable occasion. All winners received medals and cash prizes, while over 1,200 participants received certificates and event medals, creating a lasting tribute to the bravery, unity, and dedication of BSF men and women.
