Kashipur: Balabhadra Majhi, a student who topped his high school in the Arts stream (combined two-subject exam), is now working as a migrant laborer in Kerala. Even before the examination results were announced, Balabhadra had already left for Kerala with his friends to work as a laborer.
Balabhadra hails from Podapadar village under Adajore Panchayat in Kashipur Block. He studied at Bishamakatak Maa Markama Higher Secondary School. In the 2025 board exams, he scored 517 marks and became the topper of his school, bringing pride to the institution.
Despite his academic success, financial hardship forced the son of Belarsing Majhi, Balabhadra, to struggle for his higher education. After completing his final exams, he was compelled to migrate to Kerala for labor work due to severe financial constraints.
Following the announcement of his excellent results, his father Belarsing Majhi, mother Maling Dei, and villagers have congratulated him. As a family living below the poverty line, there is now a public demand for the administration to take immediate action to support Balabhadra’s pursuit of higher education.
