Bridge Square Plunged into Darkness Due to Lighting Issues

Biridi: The bright lighting system at the entrance of 22 Mouza, located at Bagalpur-Maindpur Bridge Square in Biridi Block, has become non-functional. Despite being a major junction used by representatives and residents of 22 Mouza, it has been unfortunate that no one has paid attention to this issue, according to local residents.

The government has been providing grants through MLAs, MPs, and Gram Panchayats for lighting in villages, crowded squares, markets, and near temples. However, due to a lack of initiative from local representatives, the entrance to 22 Mouza at this bridge square has remained in darkness for many years.

More than 10 years ago, former MP Kulamani Samal had installed a bright lighting system at this location. However, due to a lack of maintenance by the administration, it has since become non-functional. As a result, the square has remained in darkness for years, causing significant inconvenience to people traveling at night. Complaints to public representatives have yielded no results, leaving the area without proper lighting to this day.

To address this issue, local shopkeepers and social worker Mihir Pattnaik have urged Tirtol MLA Dr. Ramakanta Bhoi to implement a new bright lighting system at the bridge square.
