Nandapur, 21st Aug 2025: In Nandapur block of Koraput district, following an incident where a teacher was allegedly threatened with transfer over phone by the Assistant Block Education Officer (ABEO), the Collector directly intervened and ordered the removal of Gurunath Majhi from the post of Block Resource Centre Coordinator (BRCC).
In this dispute, the teachers’ association lodged a complaint with the District Education Officer (DEO). Based on the inquiry report submitted by Additional District Education Officer Chameli Majumdar, the Collector took the decision on 18/08/2025.
New Appointments:
- Smt. Mamtaj Gamang has been appointed as ABEO-cum-BRCC of Nandapur block.
- Mr. Gurunath Majhi has been reverted to his previous post as ABEO (Nandapur).
Administrative Action:
As per the office order (Letter No. 2783/PED/2025) issued by the District Project Office, Samagra Shiksha, Koraput, the new assignments came into immediate effect.
Reactions:
BEO Bhabaninandan Pattnayak and Block Teachers’ Association President Sania Muduli stated that Gamang had earlier worked efficiently in examinations, inspections, and administration across all schools of the block. Hence, she will be able to handle the additional responsibilities of BRCC effectively.
