Malkangiri,30th Aug 2025: A family meeting of the Utkal Vaidik Dik Brahmin community was held in the premises of the local Kali Temple at Balimela. Around 150 families from Balimela and Nilakasper participated in the meeting.
The event began with guests offering flower garlands to the oil painting of Shri Durgamadhav, marking the formal commencement of the program. The meeting was presided over temporarily by Sharada Prasad Das, while notable attendees included Editor Padmanabh Panda, senior priest of Balimela Rankanidhu Rath Sharma, Gajendra Mahanti, and priest Vasudev Acharya.
In his speech, senior priest Rath Sharma expressed gratitude to all participating Brahmin families and elaborated on the traditional identity of Brahmins through Vedic chants. The editor, in his address, advised the families to build a united and well-organized family structure.
All attending families expressed happiness over the formation of the community organization. Presiding officer Sharada Prasad Das stated that in the coming days, this society would support all families in sharing joys and sorrows together. A pledge was taken to follow ethical norms and principles for the proper functioning of the community. Families committed to strengthening the society in the future.
During the meeting, it was highlighted that Brahmins are not merely a caste but are considered the moral and cultural custodians of a structured society, as noted by Pramod Kumar Das. After the meeting concluded, all attendees partook in a communal meal. All Brahmin families actively participated and cooperated in the program, while priest Subhashish presided over the ceremonial arrangements on stage.
