Jharigaon, Dec, 20:  In Majhia village, under Bakdabed Basi Panchayat of Jharigaon block, Nabarangpur district, the Bolani Yatra was held . This festival is celebrated once every three years.

During the Yatra, villagers offer everything they mentally dedicate, aiming to keep the village’s cattle, crops, children, and others physically and mentally healthy. The worship lasts for three days, during which all deities are installed at a single place and rituals are performed. On the final day, the ceremony moves to nearby villages like Bat and Majhiguda, where the worship concludes. Locals traditionally call this festival the Bolani Yatra.

The main priests conducting the rituals were Doi Doinu, Ramé, and Mitu Mitu, performing the worship according to traditional customs. Key villagers and dignitaries present included Phulsingh Majhi, Santosh Bishoyi, Baidu Bhatra, Sarpanch Chaitu Bhatra, Gobind Majhi, Manasingh Bhatra, Muni Bhatra, Narayan Das, Roinu Kalar, and Manasae Kalalar, among others.

With full cooperation from these villagers and an attendance of nearly 2,000 people, the Bolani Yatra in Majhia village successfully concluded today.
