Nandapur/27th Sept 2025: – The Board of Secondary Education has corrected an error in the matriculation certificate of a student from Gatarakanda village under Padua Panchayat in Nandapur block of Koraput district.
The corrected certificate has been received by Gopal, the student, under the “Mo School” initiative after the issue was published in Dharitri.
After the news was published, the Board took steps to rectify the error. The student’s name was corrected and the revised certificate was sent to the school by the Board. As per sources, Gopal Khara, a student of Chatuwa High School, had passed the matriculation examination this year.
In the certificate issued by the Board, the English spelling of his name had an error — the alphabet “O” was mistakenly printed as the digit “0” (zero). This caused problems for Gopal in pursuing higher education. The issue was reported in Dharitri on 21st July 2025.
After the report, the school authorities drew the attention of the Board to the error. The Board then corrected the mistake and sent the revised certificate to the school.
On Tuesday, the Headmistress of the school, T. Jagadeshwari, called Gopal Khara along with his parents, Anita and Raghunath Khara, to the school and handed over the corrected certificate received from the Board.
Gopal and his parents thanked:
- Dharitri reporter for publishing the issue,
- the school authorities for their support,
- the Jeypore Regional Officer, and
- the Board officials who corrected the error.
