Nandpur, 12th Nov 2025:– In the foothills of Nandpur Block, Koraput District, the golden-yellow linseed (Alsi) flowers are drawing the attention of tourists. Travelers can be seen stopping along the roadside and in the fields to click photographs of these blooming flowers. This year, due to a delayed winter, the linseed flowers have bloomed right on time. The bright yellow flowers, set against the lush green hilly landscape, create a stunning view.

The linseed fields, cultivated alongside other crops, add unique charm to both sides of the roads. The onset of the tourist season in the district has doubled the number of visitors. Local tribal communities grow linseed as an oilseed crop. While crops like linseed often do not receive much recognition or encouragement, nature lovers appreciate the way these fields enhance the beauty of the landscape.

Bichitrananda Panda, a literary editor from Nandpur Block, has been inspired by linseed, sunflower, and mustard fields to compose poetry. The vibrant yellow color of the flowers captures hearts and minds, and flowers like sunflower, champa, and linseed enchant anyone who sees them. The bright yellow of linseed and mustard fields spreads across the landscape, momentarily pausing travelers in awe.

Poet Panda also urges tourists to be careful while photographing the linseed fields so that the farmers’ crops are not damaged.
