Nabarangpur, Jan 27: On the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Veer Surendra Sai, a voluntary blood donation camp was organized on the premises of Vidyarthi Degree College. The camp was jointly organized by the Youth Red Cross of Vidyarthi Degree College and Sambad Ama Odisha. A total of 17 units of blood were collected during the camp.
Aditya Bikram Bisoyi, student Riya Mishra, and Pratiksha Satpathy were the first to donate blood. The chief guest, Excise Inspector Dillip Kumar Rath, also donated blood and encouraged other donors.
Municipal Executive Officer Dr. Ashok Kumar Karna, social worker Jagannath Mahapatra, Chairman of the College Managing Committee Satyanarayan Nayak, District Youth Red Cross Coordinator Akhil Bhatt, convenor Dillip Hota, Professor Shambhu Prasad Hota, volunteers Bikram Das and Durga Pradhan, among others, attended and motivated the donors.
The camp was conducted under the guidance of Managing Committee Chairman Mr. Nayak and Sambad and Ama Odisha district representative Suresh Kumar Naidu. Dr. Bholanath Durga, Dr. A. Venugopal, Jyotirmay Behera, Kamulu Soura, Indramani Majhi, Dipanjali Behera, J. Jainmal, Sarada Prasad Sahu, P. Varun Kumar Rao, Nikhil Behera and others extended their cooperation.
All blood donors were awarded certificates by the Blood Bank and Ama Odisha. From the Blood Bank, senior technician Arun Kumar Swain, Martin Chhatar, Sambit Mishra, Birendra Bisoi, Manoj Pattnaik and B. Keshav Rao collected the blood.
The donors included Aditya Bikram Bisoyi, P. Tarun Kumar Rao, Riya Mishra, Pratiksha Satpathy, Sneha Lenka, Santosini Rath, Sunanda Pattnaik, Monalisa Pattnaik, Tushar Soura, V. Hemant Kumar, Aman Sadangi, Piyush Harijan, Nilambar Majhi, Dipanjali Behera, Dillip Kumar Rath, Dr. Umamaheswar, and Ashish Kumar Rath.
“Blood donors are life savers,” said Aditya Bikram Bisoyi.
