Block-Level Public Hearing Camp Organized to Address Local Grievances

Tentulikhunti,  11th Oct 2025:  : A block-level public hearing camp was organized in the Tentulikhunti block area of Nawarangpur district under the chairmanship of Group Development Officer Manoj Panigrahi. The camp focused on the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, National Food Security Act, and the Integrated Education Scheme.

The program was attended by Chief Guest Additional District Collector Bishwajit Barman, Vice-Chairman Rajendra Bishoyi, senior social worker Narayan Patra, Group Education Officer Sudipta Kumar Das, Chairman of Bharsha Organization L. Santosh Rao, and Cooperative Engineer Govind Kahar.

During the camp, it was alleged that payments amounting to ₹30,022 in Pujariguda Panchayat, ₹33,002 in Jhariguma Panchayat, ₹1,778 in Lamtaguda Panchayat, and a total of ₹20,109 in Kukudabai, Anchalguma, Kangra, Kantagaon, Kamata, and Amala Bhata Panchayats were credited to the accounts of deceased workers.

Moreover, Panchayats such as Tentulikhunti, Pujariguda, Kantagaon, Kukudabai, Jhariguma, Amala Bhata, Digi, and Goud Deopali were found lacking proper cashbooks, bills, vouchers, and food committee meeting registers. It was also reported that rice was being distributed in the name of some deceased persons, as per the social audit and movement report reading.

During the comprehensive education review, issues like the lack of proper arrangements for midday meals in some schools, the absence of kitchens, and separate toilets for girls were discussed.

Additional District Collector Bishwajit Barman urged the rural employment workers to work day and night to ensure government schemes reach the grassroots level effectively. Emphasis was placed on social audits, and after addressing various issues, a video report of the findings was released.

Social worker Narayan Patra highlighted the importance of proper implementation of schemes related to education, health, communication, and economic development for their success. Panchayat Samiti Vice-Chairman Rajendra Bishoyi discussed the social audit, while Group Education Officer Sudipta Kumar Das addressed various school-related problems.

Among others, committee members Prabhati Kandh from Manchagaon, Dilli Pradhani from Patraput, Damburu Bhatara from Kantagaon, and Sarpanch Chairman Dalapati were present. They discussed the ongoing works under the MGNREGA scheme at the Panchayat and block levels.

All Junior Engineers (JEs), media representatives, rural employment workers, and Panchayat officials were present. The camp was managed by Block Social Auditor P. Sunil Kumar.
