Block-Level Program Launched: Healthy Women, Strong Families

Malkangiri, 20th Sept 2025:  The Block-level ‘Healthy Women, Empowered Family’ Specialist Camp was inaugurated at 10:30 AM at the Mathili Sub-Divisional Hospital. The event was graced by the honourable representative of the Nabarangpur MP, Mr. Bhanumali Baraja, as the chief guest.

Dignitaries such as Mrs. Sasmita Majhi (Zilla Parishad Member, Mathili Zone-1), Mrs. Laxmipriya Nayak (ZP Member, Mathili Zone-3), Mr. Jalandhar Nayak (State Tribal Front Secretary), and Mrs. Santoshini Patra (District Vice Chairperson) were present as esteemed guests.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by:

  • Dr. Basanta Kumar Sahu, Superintendent of Mathili Sub-Divisional Hospital
  • Dr. Mohammad Abid Hussain, District Public Health Officer
  • Dr. Chaudhuri Nihar Ranjan Praharaj, Additional District Public Health Officer (Family Welfare)
  • Dr. Saubhagya Ransingh (Mosha Baharka), Additional Public Health Officer
  • Dr. Neelamani Tilakchand Behera (D.C.), District Program Manager, National Health Mission
  • Dr. Mausumi Mishra, State-level Observers Mr. Suraj Kumar Panigrahi and Mr. Mohammad Rafiq

  • In this health camp, a total of 228 women underwent health checkups and received treatment.

This “Healthy Women, Empowered Family” program (Ref No. 809/2025) was also simultaneously conducted at various Health and Wellness Centers (HWCs) such as Khairiput, Padaghat Primary Health Center, Korukonda HWC, and MV-47 Primary Health Center.

Specialist camps were organized at various Primary Health Centers (PHCs), Group Health Centers, Urban PHCs, Sub-Divisional Hospitals, and District Headquarters Hospital across the district.

Through this initiative, female and male health workers, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, Group Health Officers, and school students were screened and checked by Mobile Health Teams. Suspected patients were referred to the nearest PHC, Group Health Center, or Sub-Divisional Hospital for further treatment.

This program aims to raise awareness and provide health services at the grassroots level, especially focusing on women’s health and family welfare.
