Nabarangpur, Dec, 26: The Block-Level MP Sports Festival was successfully concluded today at Badamasigaon in Nabarangpur district. The Additional District Magistrate (General), Tapan Kumar Khuntia, attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Sub-Collector Prakash Kumar Mishra joined as the Guest of Honour.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of Nabarangpur BDO D. Sunil Khara. Among those present on the dais were Block Chairman Sarat Bhatra, DIPR Officer Manoj Behera, Nabarangpur Block MP Representative and Core Committee Member Jyoti Ranjan Kans, District Co-Coordinator of the MP Sports Festival Banka Bihari Bisoyi, Badamasigaon Sarpanch Kamaleswari Nayak, Ramesh Bhitra, and other public representatives.
In his address, the Chief Guest, the Additional District Magistrate, stated that sports are no longer just a hobby but have now become a way of life. The Sub-Collector emphasized that physical sports are essential to remain physically and mentally healthy.
Participants who qualified in various competitions—Cricket, Football, Volleyball, 100-meter race, and 200-meter race—which had started from the 16th of the month, were awarded prizes. In the football competition, Chatahandi Panchayat emerged as winners; in volleyball, Sanamasigaon Panchayat won; and in cricket, Chatahandi Panchayat secured victory.
Students of Badamasigaon SSD High School presented a Dhemsa dance during the programme. Six physical education teachers from various schools of Nabarangpur Block were present and extended their cooperation in conducting the event.
The vote of thanks was delivered by MP Representative Jyoti Ranjan Kans.
