Tentulikhunti: A block-level public hearing camp was organized at the Tentulikhunti Panchayat Samiti Conference Hall under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and the 15th Finance Commission Scheme.
During the review session, several irregularities were identified, including instances of misappropriation of government funds. The district social auditor, Baibasuta Chalan, presented the block-level report. As per the audit findings, out of a total of 81 issues, 36 issues remained unresolved.
Additionally, failures were reported in the following areas:
- Inability to provide job cards in 19 cases,
- Delayed payments to workers under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY),
- Absence of information boards for certain projects,
- Payments made under MGNREGA without actual work being done.
It was revealed that an amount of ₹96,511 was misappropriated in the name of beneficiaries, and around ₹31,242 was disbursed in the name of three deceased individuals.
Due to negligence, Yadumani Nayak, the Additional Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad, instructed all Panchayat Executive Officers (PEOs) and GRS officials to submit a detailed report within 7 days.
