Gunpur:Nov 28: A block-level fisheries and livestock fair was organized at the Block Office grounds in Gunpur. The chief guest was Gunpur MLA Satyajit Gamang, while Sub-Collector Dudhal Abhishek Dilip, PI ITDA Ajay Pradhan, District Chief Veterinary Officer Mrunmay Panda, District Fisheries Officer Sushant Goud, Block President Jhilli Shabar, Vice-President Sudarshan Shabar, Municipal Chairperson Mamata Goud, Vice-Chairman Shivprasad Goud, Block Veterinary Officer Radheshyam Das, Assistant Fisheries Officer Purnapriya Swar, and Video Swastik Jamadar were seated on the dais as honored guests.
The dignitaries discussed topics such as fish farming, livestock rearing, government schemes, and how farmers can increase their income through fisheries and animal husbandry. Over 100 farmers from 19 panchayats of the block participated, and awareness was created through 10 stalls.
Successful farmers of Gunpur block, including Jagdish Ganga, Montu Shabar, Mahima Self-Help Group, Palka Lata, Abhiram Dora, Budi Shabar, and T. Shailaja, were honored and awarded. Additionally, four leading farmers in fisheries and animal husbandry received prizes of ₹1,000 each.
The Kala Sanskriti Parishad displayed various government schemes, while Assistant Technical Manager Uttam Das introduced the guests and managed the stage. Assistant Fisheries Officer Purnapriya Swar extended a vote of thanks, and Block Veterinary Officer Radheshyam Das conducted the program.

Mukunpur/Kolnara: A block-level fisheries and livestock fair was also organized at the Kolnara Mini Stadium, presided over by Video Reena Pradhan. The chief guest was MLA Neelamadhab Dikaka, with District Veterinary Officer Dr. Praveer Kumar Mahapatra as the keynote speaker.
Other attendees included Block President Sanjuta Kulisika, Vice-President Haldhar Himirika, Koraput MP representative I. Govardhan Rao, Sub-District Veterinary Officer T.Ashok Kumar Behera, District Assistant Fisheries Officer Pratishinanda Pattnayak, Group Assistant Fisheries Officer Sarada Prasad Mishra, and Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry Viranchi Narayan Mishra.
The dignitaries spoke about the objectives of the fisheries and livestock fair and encouraged farmers to participate in government schemes. Successful farmers of the block were honored. The program was conducted by Group Veterinary Officer Sushil Kumar Sethi, while Teacher Dilip Chaudhury managed the stage. Various panchayat sarpanches and departmental officers of the block were present. At the end, District Veterinary Officer Mahapatra offered thanks.
