BJD Protests Government’s Governance in Sambalpur with Slogans

Sambalpur, 23rd July 2025: In a strong show of protest against the current state government’s administration, BJD leaders and workers from assembly constituencies under the Northern Revenue Division gathered near the Sambalpur RDC office and raised slogans. Citing various mishaps and administrative failures during the government’s one-year tenure, they submitted a memorandum addressed to the Governor through Northern RDC Sachin R. Yadav.

Prior to submitting the memorandum, a protest meeting was held in front of the District Collector’s office, where anti-government slogans were chanted. BJD leaders warned that this is merely a “trailer” of what lies ahead if the government doesn’t rectify its course.

  • The BJD strongly condemned incidents such as:
  • The death of a student at Fakir Mohan College in Balasore,
  • The Balangir minor girl case, and
  • A gang rape incident at Gopalpur beach.

Rejecting the Crime Branch probe, the leaders demanded a neutral judicial inquiry led by a sitting judge of the High Court.

In the protest meeting, BJD leaders sharply criticized the government, stating that although not even two years of its term are complete, it is already behaving like it’s in its third year, calling it unstable and incompetent.

The protest was presided over by Sambalpur BJD President Er. Rohit Pujari and saw participation from over 3,000 party workers and leaders from across the Northern Revenue Division, including Anugul, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, and Boudh districts. They collectively demanded the resignation of the Mohan Majhi-led government.
