Malkangiri,  31st Oct 2025: Under the invitation of Malkangiri District Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Manas Madkami, a public outreach padayatra was organized in Shikhpali, Malkangiri block. The event was conducted under the supervision of district council member Muka Padi Ami.

At the district level, the BJD organizes this public outreach padayatra every year, starting from October 9, the birth anniversary of Jay Prakash Narayan, and continuing until November 9, the birth anniversary of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das. The march proceeds village to village and city to city, under the direction of our leader, BJD Supremo and Odisha opposition leader Naveen Patnaik.

Through this padayatra, the party informs people about the success of various welfare schemes implemented by the previous government, ranging from Biju Swasthya Kalyan Card to schemes benefiting people from birth to death, highlighting the advantages and opportunities provided to the public.

However, it criticizes the BJP government, accusing it of making false promises during elections, such as providing Rs 3,000 monthly pension to all pensioners, 300 units of free electricity, and one-time Rs 50,000 under the Subhadra scheme, and manipulating EVMs to gain power. The padayatra highlights that under the current BJP government, women are unsafe on roads and students in schools and colleges are at risk, with daily incidents of harassment and violence.

The march also emphasizes that the Mohan government has halted ongoing development works, only changing superficial appearances, and has misused state funds for party interests, damaging Odisha’s economy and exploiting natural resources like minerals and water. The BJD promises never to allow such exploitation and aims to raise public awareness about the policies of Naveen Patnaik and the failures of the previous government.

The event was attended by all district-level leadership, including District Council Chairperson Samari Tangul, Prabhakar Hantal, Ghanshyam Madkami, Laxmi Priya Nayak, Kanteshwar Patta, Gopal Panda, Sarveswar Bishoi, along with all sarpanches and committee members, with participation from over 2,000 people in the padayatra and assembly.
