Although the party has formed these three committees for the by-election, the candidate for the seat has not been announced yet. Discussions are ongoing about who will be the candidate.

Senior leader Deviprasad Mishra mentioned in these discussions that local people prefer a candidate from the family of former MLA Rajendra Dholakia. He indirectly hinted that Rajendra Dholakia’s son, Jay, might be the BJD candidate. It is heard that the party high command has somewhat approved his name.
