Rayagada Feb, 7: P. Gouri Shankar, former Vice-Chairman of Rayagada Block, has been appointed as the Working President of the state Biju Janata Dal (BJD). The party announced this through a press release. BJD State President Naveen Patnaik has selected Gouri for the position.
During the previous government, Gouri served as the District Coordinator of the “Ama Odisha, Naveen Odisha” programme and also held the responsibility of District Vice-President of the party. Earlier, he was elected as a Zilla Parishad member from the Rayagada zone.
Beginning his political career at the grassroots level, he strengthened the party organization in Chandili, J.K. Pur, Kumutipentha, Karlakana, and nearby areas.
His appointment to this important post by the state leadership has brought happiness to the region, with congratulatory messages pouring in from various quarters. BJD District President Jagannath Saraka, State Secretary Sudhir Das, Debashish Khadanga, Uday Himirika, and others have extended their congratulations to him.
