Puri,6th Aug 2025: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has announced a 6-hour bandh in Puri on August 7 (Wednesday), from 6 AM to 12 Noon, in protest over the death of the Balanga victim.
The party claims that the police investigation into the incident has been inadequate and has raised serious questions about its transparency and effectiveness.
Demanding that the truth behind the incident be immediately brought to light, the BJD criticized the government and law enforcement for failing to identify and act against the guilty parties, despite ample time passing since the tragedy.
Speaking on the matter, Puri district BJD President Umakanta Samantaray warned that the agitation will continue if the truth is not revealed and justice is delayed.
