Bhujabala Upper Primary School Surrounded by Problems

Kolnara, 11th Sept 2025: The government upper primary school located in Bhubachana village under the Kolnara block’s Buk Satar panchayat is plagued by multiple issues. Despite informing the administration about these problems, no solution has been provided, leading to growing dissatisfaction among parents.

Though the school is located just 1.5 km away from the block and panchayat office, the lack of attention from the administration is evident. Villagers say that if a nearby school is in such poor condition, one can only imagine the state of schools in more remote areas.

Established in 1962, the school initially offered education from Class 1 to 5. Later, it was upgraded to an Upper Primary School. Currently, it has 146 students from Class 1 to 8, with 4 teachers appointed. However, the villagers are demanding at least one more teacher, which is yet to be fulfilled.

The boundary wall, which was damaged over three years ago, remains unrepaired, with parts of it collapsed and broken. The iron gate is also in a dilapidated condition, allowing cattle to enter the school premises freely.

The midday meal kitchen has a leaking roof and water seeps into the cooking area. The chimney is broken, causing smoke to stay inside the room. Cement is peeling off from the school roof, and the ceiling shows signs of major wear and tear. Rainwater leakage has persisted for over three years.

Parents say that despite repeatedly informing the authorities, no corrective measures have been taken. They warned that if immediate action is not taken to resolve these issues, they will approach higher district-level authorities and possibly launch a protest.
